Computer turns on but will not boot

I have an older Compaq Presario desktop computer that will not boot up. When I turn the computer on I can see the Compaq logo on the screen and it has a f1 for setup or a f10 for system recovery. I can't select either one. The computer just makes a beeping noise. The lights on the keyboard are not lit up either. The computer has an Intel Celeron processor.

Have you got the keyboard in the correct port? Often people swear blind that they have and in reality they have plugged it in the mouse socket... Have a look and report back to the forum.

Can't get netbook to start

I have an ASUS EEE PC 1005HAB with Windows XP. I got a blue screen PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED-AREA STOP 0x00000050. I tried Installing Windows XP on the Asus EEE pc using a single USB flash drive (using the ghost.exe image and other files from the cd/dvd that came with the netbook.

I changed the boot order to boot from a removable device and tried it with clicking ESC first but no success. It comes back the same blue screen.

Any help would be appreciated.
