Computer won't turn on

1 Replaced video card with PCI Express and tried it at the store and the computer booted
2 Brought it home and tried to turn the computer on and nothing
3 DSL works, Monitor works, All plugs in plug strip work, speakers work
4 How can I touble shoot the cords I guess, to see if they are the culprit?

A bit more info' is required. Had you checked your motherboard is compatible with PCIE?

Did you load the drivers for the card that are for your operating system.

If you have onboard graphics use that and remove the card.

When you say nothing happens when you turn it on please elaborate, do you get to the POST screen, welcome screen or a blank screen with a flashing cursor.

Since it worked at the store but didn't when you got it home, it seems likely that something may have jarred loose during the trip home. Try reseating the video card.

This shows how much I do not know about computers. The only problem with the computer was that on the back of the coputer is an on/off switch that connects to the power supply. It was off. I had no idea it was there until I took it back to the store and they pointed it out (very kindly too!) So all is well for now . Thanks for your response
