Dell is expanding their touchscreen monitor family with the launch of two new displays, the 23-inch P2314T and the 27-inch P2714T. Both models use 10-point multi-touch technology and operate at 1,920 x 1,080 full HD resolution with 178 degree X 178 degree viewing angles and 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio according to a press release.

As you might expect, both displays are targeted toward Windows 8 users that want the full touch experience. Dell’s new duo includes an adjustable stand that permits adjustments up to 60 degrees. Alternately, the panels can be mounted on a wall or attached to Dell’s Single Monitor Arm for even greater flexibility.

Connectivity options include MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link), DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA while USB connectivity encourages users to display content from their smartphone or tablet on the larger screen via MHL.

The smaller of the two retails for $449.99 while the 27-inch variant will set you back $699.99. In the event that’s simply too much coin to part with, Dell also has a new 20-inch monitor known as the E2014T that’s a bit easier on your wallet. It features a 19.5-inch display operating at 1,600 x 800 with a 2ms response time, a high dynamic contrast ratio of 8,000,000:1 and a price tag of just $249.99.

All monitors are available in the US, Canada and Latin American regions as of writing. The two larger displays will debut in the European and Asia-Pacific regions on September 18 while the 20-incher will follow on September 26.

If these monitors were less than $300, I would consider them. But at the stage they are at now, I dont think so.

How about a car where the driver sits in a turret so that when you back up the turret swivels around and points the driver to the rear. That makes about as much sense as touch monitors. Wait! It actually makes MORE sense than touch monitors.

Cool...Dell is completely ignoring all signs that have been pointing to Windows 8 as a dead-end. Full steam ahead Dell. You go girl!!!
