You need to remove all power from the laptop, locate your CMOS battery and disconnect it (or remove it if it is a coin style battery) for 30 minutes. That will not remove the Admin /Configure Setup Password, but it will reset BIOS Defaults of Boot Order 1) Diskette 2)HDD 3)CD Drive and reenable disabled drives. That default boot order will be locked still by the password, but by then removing the HDD from the laptop, it will allow a boot from the CD Drive with the CDR version of the DST file from this Website and erase the eeprom, then reset only the Service Tagnaveric said:Idot know what to do... my hard drive is new and its empty. my bios setup is locked and the only boot sequence is the hd!!! i forgot my password i tried everything please help. the service tag is 5wbx591-595b express service code 12838851541

I read your web site but I got confused between methods. Ideally, I would like to use Rustam_ method. But if that is impossible when would one use the paperclip method versus the DST method?
I have a lat d610 and do not want to cut open the motherboard sheath. Does the DST method work here? I would like to do it booting from cd or usb drive and have disconnected coin-battery for about an hour as instructed.
Thanks,
Dean
Paragon33 said:If you are getting a grey/white csreen asking for a Password, that is a Primary BIOS Password- no matter what it says on the screen-and must be cleared either by rustam and his Password Generator or by the "paperclip" method. If the Bios is accessible, but locked by an Admin/Cofigure Setup Password, then you use the DST software to clear that type
When he removed the CMOS Battery, that resets BIOS to Defaults including boot order and Date/Time. That is the reason for the F1 Invalid configuration meessage. You are going to need to short the EEProm Chip to clear the password and the site has the instructions and the software for afterwards to reset your Service Tagtechonadesk said:To confirm, here is what happens when I power up:
1) Get a black screen with error message: Invalid configuration setting - please run SETUP
A few seconds later
2) The Boot screen with Dell logo, progress bar, bios revision number, etc. There is no instructions to press F2 and pressing F2 does nothing
then
3) The gray/white screen asking for System/Admin password and displaying service code-595b (like the picture on your stie)
The guy who sold it to me said he got into the bios and tried to change that password. I think maybe he did other stuff, hence the error at (1) which at face value looks like a hardware config problem in bios.
Anyway that is where I am at

I work for a large computer firm, And I repair laptops all day, the ones with admin and hdd passwords suck as you know. For each one i have to call dell and ask for the master password takes about 1hour per laptop. Could you please hook me up with the program or software you use to generate passwords, I would be forever greatful.
Let me know THANKS
stevejlack said:I already checked out your site, its nice, but I need a way to get ADMIN and HDD passwords off. I found a master generator for the old 5 digit service tags but all my laptops are newer with the longer service tag. Also the HDunlocker program you have is not free and does not support IBM Deskstar drives, which is what i have the most of. I saw that there was a nother user rustam_ that can remove passwords, why wont he share his software or techniques
Let me know if you come up with anything
thanks

The program latitude.exe i have tried does not work for me, and i don't have the time or knowledge to create a DOS Disc.
I was just wondering if anyone could message me the password for the ID,
4FFJ32J - 595B
If anyone could message me the password, it would be much appreciated. I'm off to work now but will sign on when i get back.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT; Sorry, i mistaked Inspiron for Latitude, my old laptop was an Inspiron. Its actually a latitude, sorry.
