Yesterday just get my newly bought LCD 20" inch
i set the resolution to 1680 x 1040. do i need to reset the fresh rate?
because i've encounter there's "frequency"(dont what the word to describe).
what i need to do to make the "frequency" vanish?

I have a 4:3 19" dell that you can run at 75. There is absolutely no difference that I can discern, and I imagine it actually IS running at 60, but it just reports the frequency signal it is getting from the video card.

If you want to manually specify the refresh rate in your OS, set it to 60.

SNGX1275,
If you see no difference between a vertical refresh of 60Hz and 75Hz, I strongly recommend that you use 60Hz-62Hz. You may prematurly burn out the inverter

I do, I force it to 60hz in the display properties -> advanced. I suspect it may only report 75hz to prevent any confusion (if you didn't change away from 75 when going from CRT to LCD) because I bet the fluorescents only work at 60.

forget to elaborate, i'm using Dell vostro 1500, with following Specs:
Nvidia 8600M GT 256
4Ghz
Duo core 2.20Ghz
Os: XP service pack 2
just that not feel perfect when you can see the frequency signal while you;re on game playing.:)
