Disk boot failure

My desktop is in this screen and I don't know what is the problem please help me fix this problem

Does this just pop up when you start up? Does the system manufacturers symbol pop up before it?

Just by chance do you have a cd in the cdrom at this time, I ask because your computer is set for cdrom as first to boot. I have seen this before, In older computers cause them not to boot. Other then that . I would guess the hard drive has crashed.
