Disk Disappeared after new XP Install

I needed to reinstall Windows XP on my PC.
I had 3 Disk Drives (C,D,G), and 2 CD Drives (E,F)
After installation G disappeared.

How do I get the system to recognize it again?

The first step would be to disconnect the drive from the IDE and the power boot up then shut down and reconnect the drive if there is nothing wrong with the drive then windows should recognize it on boot up.
