Last evening my AVG resident-shield alerted, when I entered a site to try to download a program. it said that it had deteced a trojan known as: "downloader.agent2.IGX".
-AVG could not remove these files through multiple scans/repairs
- I then ran the "8 steps" successfully. (doing scan twice).- and came up "clean"

- when can I know that I got rid of "bugger"?

- thanks for any help.

If the scans are clean, and you are runing an up-to-date and functional antivirus program, you should be ok... You do have some critical Vista updates missing. Vista Service pack 2 is one update needed

Just want to make sure you are aware that your system is using more than one language. Both Mbam and SAS were run in a non-English language.

Also, might be good idea for you to do a full system scan with the AV program.
