DVD burn speed mispeading?!

hello all....

i just bought the samsung SH-S183L Super-WriteMaster internal DVD burner with 18x dvd+r... its a SATA drive

then i bought VERBATIM's DVD+R dual layer dvd up to 6x speed......

when i go to burn, my only option is 2.4x, what gives?!

i use NTI's DVD MAKER GOLD as my software

please let me know if you have any ideas.

Not all drives can write to all discs at maximum speed, especially if they do not recognise them. Check to see if there is an updated firmware for your drive or use a different brand of discs.

Only if this happens with ALL discs would you need to worry.

hmm, the drive does recognize the disc.... well this is just a friggin shame.
