DVI to VGA/D-sub

I need to buy a new video card. Problem is the card I want doesn't have VGA/D-sub. The card does come with a DVI to VGA adapter, but I'm not certain it will work since this monitor is so old. Everything else in my computer is brand new. Will it work the way it should? Thanks!

Yes that is what the DVI to VGA adapter is for... Although, it seems like a waste of money to buy a good video card to display on an old analog monitor. Digital flat screens are getting cheaper and cheaper. Save your pennies to buy one of these when you can
