Hi to all as I am a newbie looking for some help with an e machine problem. After reading some of the forum I am not optimistic about solving this problem.
I am working with a Lao family that doesn't have much money but they do have an emachine with the mb 142433 IMPERIAL.
The major problem is that I can't jack up the screen resolution above 640 x 480. I looked in the bios but there was no help there. They have lost all disks and paper work in their many moves so I don't have any documentation. I also can't get any sound out of it.
I have reinstalled Windows XP as when I started it would boot but then give an error message and quit.
There are no cards except a nic. Would it be a good idea to put in a cheap video card and a sound card? It has two slots.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
