Emachine recovery disk question

I have an emachine that normally runs windows xp. I bought the computer second-hand and I don't have an xp disk. Recently I had to replace the power supply and hard drive, and I need to reinstall xp. A friend of mine has an emachine recovery disk from an emachine that no longer runs, but her emachine is a different model. Would I be able to recover my windows xp with her disk and if so, is this legal? Also, If I buy an xp disk will it install all the drivers I need?

I don't know their TOS off hand, however, I'm guessing it's illegal.

You're probably best off just imaging the old HDD to the new one unless you're dead-set on reinstalling Windows.
