Emachines monitor is blank

Hello All
My Eview 1713 monitor, model no 1772ED, 17" flat screen monitor remains blank during boot-up. I hook it up to another box it remains blank all the time.
Another monitor hooked up to both boxes works fine. I think it is a monitor issue. Do they use cmos in monitors now days?
