External Hard Drive question

Hello,

I have a question on external HD's. Currenlty my laptop is approx. 2 years old and kind of slow with my iTunes on it and some family pictures. I was thinking about getting an external HD to move all of this content to (with the hope that my laptop speeds up) but not sure which one to purchase. Can someone recommend a decedent HD (I was thinking around 500GB).

You'll probably notice more of a boost in performance by disabling unneeded services and processes along with upgrading your RAM. There may be a slight increase in performance by shifting some of your data over to an external drive, however, that's probably not going to be noticed unless your current HDD is packed to the brim.

any USB2 hard drive case will work with any hard drive, they do not have to be bought as a unit, and the data can be moved just by dragging and dropping if u do not have to much to move at once. Do not stack up a bunch to move as things can get messed up that way.
