File format

say guys i downloaded a game and it's in FILE format, so it says!

and i was wondering if anyone knows how to get it up and runnig on PC.

i've tried a couple of programs and nothing seems to recognise it. so far.

game is " Sid Meier's Civilization 4 and Warlords Expansion (Multilanguage)"

rabay, instead of being a smart*** and trying to get him to get a virus, why not fill him in on what he did wrong?

Downloading games off of the internet like you tried is illegal, and we do not condone it here at Techspot.

So, in other words, we can't, and won't help you with anything illegal.

Note, don't do what raybay said, as that will probably get you a virus.

If you downloaded this, odds are you are pirating it, and you won't find much help here. While I don't find any fault with people "trying" games before they purchase, if it is a game you do want to play, buy yourself a real copy.


As for the technical aspect, in Windows when something says it is in "FILE" format it means that it is an unrecognized file, often without an extension, that no program has an association for. That would indicate you do not have the needed software installed to open the file. You won't get any more information out of me than that...
