  1. Twice now, my firefox 1.0.3 crashed my system.
I lost all my bookmarks and data from other open programs.

    Has anyone else experienced this?
If so, were you able to save any of the old bookmarks.
The unsaved data is gone, for sure.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Download the latest version of Firefox from HERE

    See if this helps.

Also found that some of the extensions are shaky and by uninstalling them FF
become much more stable. New download will get you FF 1.0.7.

    Firefox doesn't start

For a while I was using Firefox, but when I re (had to) re-install Win2K, the IE took over. I am not able to run Firefox. I see Firefox.exe running in the Task Manager Processes list, without a browser window open.

Even if IE is at some point (inadvertently) declared as the primary browser, if I start FireFox, it should open, right?

stop firefox.exe from running in task manager and then start the program. often if you try and start the program while it is showing in task manager you get a error messsage and are asked if you want to chose or create a different profile.

Also, check the settings in your personal firewall. Make sure firefox is permitted.
