I have a dell inspiron 9300 and i am currently experiencing some problem with windows startup.
when i trun on the laptop i got a message saying PBR2...DONE
I ran my win xp cd and typed FIXMBR to fix it
but it made it worse,now i get a blank screen with an error message saying error loading operating system. I ran the recovery cosole again and typed FIXBOOT. This actually fixed the problem. But i have to do it everytime i turn on my laptop..

any idea how i can solve this problem?

possible bad drive. Try fixing the master boot record with fixmbr instead. Next time you get it running run scandisk and watch for the report to see how many bad sectors there are. More than a few and you should consider it unreliable and replace it.
