Full memory does not register

I have an abit IP35 PRO motherboard and I had 2 GB RAM. I just added anothe 2 GB but when I power it up and look it only reads that I have 3.25 GB. I have tried moving the ram around in different slots and combinations and have come to the conclusion that the memory sticks are of and so is my motherboard. Why wont it see the full 4 Gig?

You're probably using Windows XP 32-bit, and you're not going to get more than you are out of it. Search around, it's nothing new .

Limitation for a 32-bit OS as far as I know.

32 bit OSes are limited. They will not see the full 4gb.

If you wish to access more, you will need to use a 64bit version
