Gaming Error

Lately I've been playing a game (I'll leave the name of it undisclosed so as to avoid any sort of liability or unwanted advertising) and the same error occurs with nearly clockwork reliability. Personally, I have no idea what's causing the crash, and I'm hoping I can get some help here. I recently upgraded several components on my system and I suppose it could be a configuration error somewhere on my system. Up until now, I've been pointing fingers at the game developers because this crash ONLY occurs while playing their game.

I've attached the most recent minidump from the crash.

Also, the event viewer describes the crash as a Category 102, EventID 1003. Here are the details:

Error code 00000019, parameter1 00000020, parameter2 858c6000, parameter3 858c6928, parameter4 0b250000.

Any suggestion or help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

GW

Bump. This issue really concerns me as to whether the technicians that assembled the upgrades for me did a proper job. Can someone please help?

That crash was caused by c6501.sys, which is a C-Media sound driver. It's fairly new, but see if there's an update available.

Thanks for the help, Peter. I went and found some new drivers for my sound devices. Hopefully this cleans things up. If not, I'll come back and post new information.

Thanks again!

Well, I played through nearly a full day and no new crashes. By the looks of things, the old drivers were the cause and everything is all cleared up now.

Thanks again, Peter.
