Google Fiber , is it as great as they say?

Is google fiber going to be as great as they say it will be , I would like to know because google said the same thing about google wi-fi being offered in local Starbucks Coffee stores and it is terrible. I it going to be another publicity stunt that is going to be complete waste of time? If you have tried google fiber please feel free to leave your opinions and comments. Personally I think most public places are not fitted to accomodate such new technologies like fiber optic cabling. Yay or Nay , you be the judge !
