Google unveils a self-driving car with no steering wheel, brakes or accelerator

I'm fairly certain those same questions were ask, about having robotic factories. Now look at where we are.

But you didn't answer any of them. :)

Your not being serious are you? How many people work in robot factories? Accidents happen everywhere but I think the accidents that occur in robots factories may be somewhat dwarfed by the accidents on the interstate highways. A vehicle is a deadly dangerous weapon. Thousands of accidents occur in the United States everyday and people think the solution is a driver less car? What happens if a hacker or the Chinese hack into these cars and want to do bad things?

That's just what we need. Another too big to fail project. So that millions of people lives are in the hands of a CPU. Reminds me of the Terminator. :)

I am not trying to take anybodys dream way. But I just don't see this going mainstream. But that doesn't mean I am right. I would think something like the San Francisco Florida railway project on a larger scale would be more practical. That's why I asked what the overarching goals of driver less cars are. Economics? Safety? Convenience? If your goal is to treat everybody as a circuit in a complex computer system why not take that to it's extreme? Driver less cars? Phffftttt!!!!!

Yes I am serious. I didn't suggest that to be the perfect analogy. Your objections do currently have merit but at some point I can see them as irrelevant. I think the terms there is the difference between being realistic and being a visionary. Which by the way is possible to coincide with each other.

Edit:
And by the way visionaries don't always have the answers being ask of them. That is part of the technological evolution.

I understand the whole self-driving-vehicle thing, but not having the ability to take over manually is daunting.

The title reminds me of one for movie Johnny English:
He knows no fear. He knows no danger. He knows nothing.

no steering, no wheel, no brakes,..... no speed, no design, no taste,...nothing.
