Graphics programs crash on print command

  1. I'm using Corel Graphics and Irfanview in Windows XP. Lately, when I click on the "print" button to choose a printer and set my preferences, the programs stop responding. I get no error message. The hourglass just lingers, and when I go to the task manager it says the program is not responding.
I can print with word processors, and with Gimp. I haven't uninstalled or reinstalled anything because it seems to happen with multiple programs.
All I've really done is clean the registry and run diagnostics and fix tools.
    Has anybody had this problem?

I had the same experiences with "damaged" or "too high compressed" pictures. maybe it works if you convert the picture into a more easy to handle format such as bmp. the software usually needs to uncompress before it sends the uncompressed data to the printer. this can cause the program to stop responding...

    my two cents
