Help!!! intergrated and video card problems

hi yesterday i build my first pc,i pluged in everthing correctly when i was finished i booted up, my moniter would get no signal, i then removed my video card and i finally got some connection. After intalling vista with my intergrated vido card i decided to plug in my 8600GTS and then after that i would get no connection using either my video card or the intergrated one.I then rememb erd i forgot to install drivers,i then plugged out my card and tried the intergrated one but that still didnt work.....what do i do?

When you had the Card in, you had the Monitor plugged into the Card, not the Onboard? When a Vid Card is present, it basically turns off the Onboard.

When you plugged the card in, did Vista "find new Hardware" ?

The Card should work with no Drivers - ie during Setup - just at low resolution etc etc.

You haven't got the Display set too high for the monitor {Out of Range?}

Are you getting the POST {bios} screen at boot or nothing at all...?

right after i plugged in my card both the card and the integrated video didn't work so i could really see anything
