Help with Oblivion

i have had oblivion for quite a wile now and i just reformatted my coumputer and tryed to put oblivion back on but when i start it up it says; Failed to initialize renderer
NiXAdapterDesc;;GetDeviceCaps() failed

wat sort of video card do u hav and do u have the most up to date drivers
