HijackThis Install Questions/Issue

I downloaded the latest version of HijackThis and I followed Howard Hopkinso's instructions of what to do and not to do.

Two of those instructions said that a) it needed to be put in its own C:\Program Files\HJT and b) NOT in Temp and NOT on the Desktop.

I installed as instructed but HJT automatically made a shortcut to my desktop and immediately brought me to the scan screen asking if I wanted to do a scan. What should I do?

Also, the instructions say that I am to rename the HighjackThis_v2.exe file to Analyze.exe Where do I find the HighjackThis_v2.exe file?

It`s Ok to run HJT from a shortcut on the Desktop.

To rename it,just right click on it,(the file in the folder) then choose "Rename" from the menu.
