If there is another place for this plz advise. In trying to network between windows 7 and XP I have followed many different suggestions without success.
I have spare NIC's and a crossover cable that I can use if necessary. Have a Broadband modem and wireless router that, at this time, has an xp and 7 machine hardwired to the router. I do not use the wireless feature.

Belkin N Wireless router

Would like to be able to share printer and non-system files between the 2 machines.
ZoneAlarm seems to be part of the connection problem. I disabled ZoneAlarm on both machines and now use windows firewall but I would prefer ZA if possible. Thanks.
