Is there a way to bypass the -595B by using a gen or program? If so, what program or generator? is there also another person that can do it other than rustam?

there is no generator for the 595B only dell have it and some guys have a connection that works for dell and they sell the passwords

On a few, yes.
But on most Dells which got the 595B assignment, they knew it would work well.
Security is such a big issue these days, and most of the ones with this coding were corporate, government, or military computers...
Most got into the marketplace as trade-ins... Dell did the dirty deed during the refurbishing process to prevent use of the Windows software, and to continue to prevent theft.
It is because of the theft issue, that it is a problem... You have to prove you are a valid owner, which takes 15 to 21 days, then you can get a resolution.

I purchased my laptop at Ebay.com and I can't contact the person who sold it to me. How can I make you see I'm the one who placed the order?,On this web page, I've seen members who can help us giving us dell laptops admin codes, I called Dell and I was told if I provided the name of the valid owner I would get a password. But getting that name has been a little difficult for me

Again My laptop is dell inpiron e1505 and service tag is ##h2ncxb1-595b Thanks

Reload Spybot

I'm getting all sorts of popups launching in IE whenever I do anything associated with the internet. I don't even use IE, I use firefox but IE keeps launching time after time with spamvertisements. I ran HJT and looked through the files... I cannot however delete some of the files I'm suspecting are culprit cause they are in use. Tried the HJT deletion util and no luck. Killbox, nada. It won't even allow killbox to reboot my system, it gives me a message that it's been stopped by an .,..

Marrok , I am also a beginner at this, I think that Adaware may be part of the problem. Have you tried removing all the software that is supposed to help like spybot S&D, Kilbox, Adaware, etc. Then reload spybot S&D and allow it to do its work. Have you tried a firewall like ZoneAlarm? it will tell you what is accessing your system and you can allow or disallow it. Goodluck.

Register the purchase with Dell. They have a page on their website for that purchase, then ask their assistance. It takes approximately 21 to 30 days to verify your purchase, and to verify that it has not been reported stolen. You just report the date and posting number of the purchase and affirm you did not know the original owner.

Otherwise, it is extremely difficult to get by that passwords. Lots of people promise to do so. But the actual password, or removal of the password almost never happens.

Only Dell is authorized, as far as I know.

Take a look through these Dell password posting in this forum. You almost never see a fix. It is that difficult! If it were easy, it wouldn't really be a secure password. If somebody could help you, they could just as easily help a thief. That is why it is rarely done.
You will have to send it back to Dell or an authorized service center. I have never seen a password removed or edited for an e1505 Inspiron on this forum.

Cheapest thing you can do is still expensive... motherboard is $139 to $179 depending on where you can get it. Good working replacement is $250.
I don't think this is one of the models Rustam can fix, either.

D610 HDD p/w

Hello all. Great forum and lots of excellent info.

My son inherited a Dell D610 from his grandfather. The bios was locked, and we didn't have a password. Got it unlocked, no problem. The pin/short method worked the first time....once I located the chip. BTW, I have a couple high res images of the chip and the location if anyone is interested. The hard part was finding the chip (24LC04).

Anyway, got the bios unlocked, but the HDD is locked. No chance of getting the original password. It asks for a "primary" p/w.

If one you fine gentlemen (or ladies) would be so kind, I would appreciate a little help getting the HDD security unlocked. The D610 is an early 2006 release and drive info is as follows:

Samsung 40GB
WJ20L214919-595B

Any help offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unless you desparately need the data off of it, a new drive is only $36 for a 40 GB, or $54 for an 80 GB that is better than the 40 GB that is locked up.
On some 40 GB drives, you can use an external USB enclosure that has a 5V power adapter to drag the data off of it. But you have to test to see if your 40 is one of the drives that can be accessed. You will never be able to use it as an installed drive, however.

There is no relationship between Dell laptops and reality. The D610 is a totally different animal than is the D620... passwords and security are very different.

I realize this. However, I don't intend to toss a functioning drive if it can be salvaged. The cost isn't the issue, as I have other drives. I know of several 610 HDD's that have been unlocked with generic passwords, and the drive used as internal primary. I just don't have the passwords or a generator. Dell will likely help once the ownership is transfered, but that can take months. Just looking for a shortcut.

Good, DMM, I don't know of any, and I have a pasword generator, and a lot of Government D610's to test. There is more bull floating around about this than could be calculated. Dell, for one, says you are wrong... that generic passwords will not work.

Of course, Dell will deny it works. They will also (most of the time), tell you shorting the chip will not work to remove the admin security. It could effect their bottom line. What good is a security system if it's easily bypassed? Not only that, I have yet to speak to a Dell rep who knows any more than the cue card they are looking at. I understand it may not work with all systems. Even the systems that "do" work, don't always. If you have a code generator, does it cost you money to try? I can "buy" a password if I supply the drive code string, so it works for someone. Government D610's may be very different than consumer release versions. I haven't seen one, so I don't know.

No, we have skilled tecnicians here trained to short the EEPROM and other chips.

Our code generator cost plenty. And I assure you our engineers know how to use it... as we do similar work for corporations and aerospace engineers, here and California. It costs us nothing other than the origina cost.

The Government D610's are no different than consumer versions except that they are all passworded, and the passwords are removed when they are remaindered out for trade in or resale. When one is performned by Dell authorized by Dell, they send the code on disc, by certified express deliver. It only works on one drive. But as far as I know, all password work is done at Dell... not by field reps. A "Dell rep" is really an independent contractor who covers a territory and gets the job, one at a time, just like real folks. Talk to the Dell on-site people to see why they charge $250 to fix a password. The computer or drive is shipped to Dell. This is to keep the system secure, and the reputation for security sacrosanct... Because, as you say, what good is a security system if it is easily bypassed. This is why weI know the drive fix you described are not done by reps. They are only done at the Dell shop.

Perhaps you can tell us the brands and models you have heard about?

Toshiba Portege 4010 BIOS password

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Portege 4010 with a BIOS password which I don't have.

I've tried making a keydisk, which didn't work... is there anything else I can do?

Thanks.

Dell Inspiron E1405

Aquired this notebook from a family friend whose son was killed in an accident. No idea what the password is.
gray screen tag number is F24DDB1-595B

Can someone please advise if the paperclip method will work on this unit and if its not asking to much, a link to a picture of the chip that needs to be jumped?

Thanks to all who have posted, you all do a wonderful job helping those of us in need.

That is either an Inspiron 640m, or an Inspiron E1405.

No, the shorting procedure will not work.
However, Dell cooperates with the estate lawyers... Just have the lawyer for the estate contact them with notice that access to the computer is necessary to performance administrative duties on the estate... with the death certificate.
It is not free, but it is easier.
