help. i have got this laptop and i cant seem to get pas the power on password as the user has left and not passeed on the password. i have allready tried getting the battery out over night( cmos, main and hard drive) to no availe.

If the laptop belongs to you, you can always contact HP at 1-800-HPINVENT
They have a reset util and all you have to do is provide proof of ownership.
I am still researching various ways on unlocking HP laptops.. but remember,
I have a D620 I am trying to unlock and it does have a bit more priority to myself.
 
Dell Inspiron 8000 Bios Password recovery

Hello:

A friend of mine bought a Dell notebook model Inspiron 8000 for $ 125.00 .

My friend is a beginner in computers related items ,,

The notebook have the BIOS Password Locked ,,,

the original seller refuse to return his money ..

The Dell Inspiron 8000 notebook tag number is FD2KC01-D35B ..

I need help to know the way to retrieve the master password for this computer .

Please help me ..

Try this password and let me know if it works

I assume after you enter the password you type in control and enter
maybe hold ctl and press enter..

Remember to remove all passwords from your bios by pressing F2

Tell me which one worked for you

Read the previous posts, there are several password generators available on Google and here for D35B locked machines.
My only caution is do NOT be quick to upgrade the BIOS immediately after you remove the D35B code...I was all excited after getting a D35B code off. The first thing I did was upgrade the BIOS, that just got me stuck at a 595B code...NO JOY!, bummer.
 
ANY closer to a 595B Generator Kimsland?

Should we all just look for a light in the sky? A signal? Will it portend the end of days?
A moderator with your pull? Nothing?

I completely ditto what Rottenweiler just said, I am also at my wits end, i I just literately read this thread from start to finish, for the 5th time, and i too have the evil Demon Dell D620, and the thought of playing Frisbee with the god forsaken thing is becoming imminent. Will the clouds part and a 595b keygen come down, or is that tied to come with the Mayan\crystal skull\ year 2012 thing ? i mean really.....
(ill just cry myself to sleep tonight)

Actually I really have made progress (indirectly though)
I have successfully reduced the amount of paid services to a minimum (in 2 significant ways) And wish to state again that TechSpot forum is all about free help (otherwise members should look elsewhere)

This in turn has pressured others (both members needing help and members providing help) to basically come out into the open forum (where it should be done anyway)

It is a cultural change at TechSpot, which has been quite difficult to try and change(coming up to the tail end actually) I envisage that there will be zero paid services (presently still lurking in some dark corners here) by either the end of this year or early next year. I'll quote this message then if you like :)

So how does this help? Well with zero demand on paid services, means that the paid generator service will have zero profit here. Thus the generator will at last be provided. Some respected and brave person will come along and help (pretty sure it'll be someone very close to me here already. He already knows it's the right thing to do for TechSpot. ;)

I would like to re-state to all New members, that there are FREE alternatives, than paying high costs.

Before deciding to accept any message on how you can pay to receive your passwords:
1. Read this entire thread (you are currently on) On many laptops, the passwords can be freely removed
2. Dell will supply you a password for under $40 only
3. Shop around. There are many pay for services out there, quite a few at eBay, and basically a Google search will find hundreds!

Harddisk password

Hi all of you,

I'm currently fighting with a password protected HD sitting in a Dell D430.
I do have the BIOS password so not problem there.

Been browsing the threads (quite many posts) but what kind of information do we know of this type of protection and is there a list of site links or collection of possible workarounds ?

I'm tempted to buy the "password" but again are these sites trusty ? Or buy a new HD could be another solution but then data is lost and not to mention which type of HD fits this D430 ?

Hope one of you could share some knowledge.

Depending on the model HDD, you may be able to find removal software. You can try to go through http://www.hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/ and see if they support the drive in the laptop. Someone I used to work for had luck with that software. I think it can only be a HDD Password controlled by the HDD. I don't think if the HDD has a third party software utility creating an algorithim to encrypt it, that it would work. http://www.hddunlock.com/

masterpw.exe 595b

But all download sites are pay sites and how can I be sure it will work ?

Any experience with this program and how to validated it ?

I don't know what happend... simply the machine refuse to disable that option ,,

i understand what you saying i have allready been in touch wiht HP and they tell me they can only help with E series laptops. the alternative is to purchase a new motherboard and my company is no prerared to do so as of its age, but its a good little laptop to loan out to users for short priods of time hence trying to get back and working. if you can help it would be of great.

You dont need that.. it will give you the same password I just gave you.
And you will be still asking the same question your asking now.
Lets solve your problem.

What you need to do is download dst-cd ..

Since now you can get past the bios password screen
You need to make a bootable cd

DST-CD can be downloaded here

the password is smellyalater

Set your cdrom as the 1st boot device

Delete your service tag and you will be fine.

B.T.W.... when you entered your master password, what key combination did you use?
Did you hold down the ctl key and tap enter.. did you press ctl and enter at the same time simultaneously?

P.S. DONT Ugrade Your BIOS

You did read the 1. 2. and 3. lines I wrote above?
If you are not able to get help freely here
Then try Dell themselves (ideally)
Or search Google for a paid service (note there are many, and therefore any spam links or emails (just in case from other members) will be removed)

Unless found to be hardware fault (then free motherboard change over, under warranty :grinthumb )
 
i have called dell, they refused because the computer was never originally registered in the first place, and the lappy was given to me by a friend, because she got a new one, apparently her now ex BF set the password to get back at her. so im without options, i just want to be able to use the damn thing, and i don't want to have to pay a 3rd party, thats alot of money for a word, that can easly be shared....i just hope someone will help, or im just gonna throw it out the window
