Hyperloop One has published the first conceptual renderings of what a Hyperloop system may look like in the opulent desert city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Hyperloop One, formerly Hyperloop Technologies before changing its name earlier this year to avoid confusion with rival group Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, said it hopes the renderings demonstrate how seamlessly their system could fit into the urban landscape and perhaps more importantly, how “unclaustrophic” their autonomous Hyperpod passenger vehicles could be.

Having lived there for several years, when it is above 40C/104F much of the year, and much higher part of the year, walking is not optimal.

Precisely! The best example would be to take a 30 minute walk in Death Valley in the middle of the day ... you really aren't aware of the danger until you're in serious danger and if you don't carry enough water, you a dead man. On the flip side, it is great to see a country that has the expendable cash to invest in such things. Some will sit back and call them foolish, but if you don't take risks now and then you'll never see progress. Those new water taxi's that I saw yesterday also look like a risky venture that could pay off handsomely in certain areas .....

Someone call the Kushan to see if any of their motherships are missing.
