I got a serious problem

Hey guys,
When i try to boot up my computer i get this annoying message that says "no dll needed for Hal" or something like that and that i should contact my support person or something,

anyway i tried to reinstall windows xp but after i make it boot from cd it gets stuck on the, Windows is setting up screen and noting else happens

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

it happened after i ran a scan for viruses and need to restart

Sorry, but error messages need ot be exact- not "or something like that and that i should contact my support person or something,"

Reinstalling when you don't know what the problem is, is not a good thing to do.

theres nothing serious problem in windows.....

As u said once u try to reinstall ur pc is getting hanged up... Try to boot uc and press F8 and select LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION or try to restore ur pc settings using restore option...

If it doesnt work then take the back up of ur data which is valuable and store in any prndrives of any cds....

Delete all the drives and then reinstall ur OS ..... b4 u put the data back ..install the Antivirus with updated definations then restore ur old data....
