Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 or Phenom II 710

Hi Guys,
I'm, trying to decide which of the said two processors to buy for my new machine. They are the same price. I've seen reviews of both but now direct ones. I've heard good things about the phenom's power consumption.

Any thoughts anyone?

Are you sure that e7400 is not an E8400?

Yeah I'm sure its an e7400-its the cheap line of cpus...I'll be using it for general tasks and non stress gaming, probably with 64bit vista premium.

Go with whichever's cheaper. You could actually get by with an X2 5000+ as well, unless you're going to be playing very resource-intensive games like Crysis or GTA IV.
