Internet explorer running slow!

When i first start comp and try to run IE it takes 1 or 2 min for it to pull up homepage....but once it pulls up the homepage it runs fine the rest of the time. If i exit it and run IE again it runs fine....it only has problems during the first opening of the program. I have run ad-aware and avg free edition. and i tryed Windows defender......and nothing changed when i removed all the carp they all told me about..........what to do next or does anyone have a fix for this.

Please post a HJT log as an attachment into this thread as per these instructions. Then we can see whether or not it's caused by malware (spyware, viruses, etc.).

If your running IE7, it connects thru a proxy server on PORT 80. That's exactly why I went back to IE6. Direct Inernet Connection. That's probably what's causing the initial delay.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Thanks guys for all the help........i decided to get a new HD and transfer some files from the old one and then fromat the old one and use it as extra storage space.
