I'm running a Gigabyte GA8IPE1000 m/b, and I'm wondering if its possible to have 2 SATA HDD, 2 PATA HDD, a DVD burner and a DVD ROM all at the same time. I have the slots for it I think....

Currently running 1 SATA HDD, 1 CDRW and a DVD ROM. Will get another SATA on Friday, and the DVD burner once this CDRW burns out (working on that).

Also, will my Asus P4V800 m/b do the same?

the Asus is running 2 PATA HDD, a DVD RW and a CDROM (32X, don't ask about the weird combinations).

Both comps running XP SP1. No intention of going to SP2 unless its really necessary.

I've got info on my comps submitted in some form in this site.

Okay, thanks for the reply....

And damn, I should have thought about just installing one of my PATAs into my comp and see (before posting of course).

Will post if it works (when I get my new SATA tomorrow)

The only concern is powering up all those devices, hopefully your power supply can handle it (I imagine it will without problem, unless its a really cheap one).
