LAN computer name question

Ok, so basically what i want to do is be able to mask my computer name on a LAN without actually changing my computer name, For example i'd like to have my computer name actually be dog, while others see the computer as being named cat.

Also masking my ip address on the lan would be cool to, if anyone knows any apps or how to do this please please let me know.

As far as I am aware, this is not possible (at least natively). I did a bit of asking around on some Windows channels, nobody I asked had heard of anything like this.
