Looking for a good CPU upgrade

Currently I have an X4 760K paired with 8GB of RAM in my PC and recently got a GTX 1050Ti.
I decided it's time to upgrade the CPU.
I would need a new CPU and motherboard and probably new RAM since I am using DDR3 right now.
Budget for all of that would be around 350$ and I am aiming at the Ryzen 5 line up.
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.
Cheers :D

Sell off you're old mobo/ram/cpu as a combo on ebay or your local city newspaper.
Use that sales money to cover for the memory and a aftermarket cooler.
I know you are giddy for ryzen 5 but... *NOO SIR*

Have a look at both brands closely before you buy.

Good luck

It all depends on the requirements of his system... Basically OP if you prefer gaming stick with the I5-8500 as it has better single core performance which can net you better frame rates in games also the CPU is a six core so it can multi task pretty well.
On the other hand if you don't mind less gaming performance but better Multitasking capabilities the Ryzen 2600 would be far better as the extra 6 threads would help a lot.

weight your demands and decide on those factors.
