I really don't like the reapers as a story element: I really hope they manage to focus on the small things that matter; in essence personal interaction, and story related surprises. Mass Effect 1 was a millions time better than Gears Effect 2.

When the story focuses on something as generic as a faceless alien race, I lose all interest. A good story often need a complex and grey tinted villain; the reapers fail miserably.

Illusive man? Where the he%l did that come from? The second installment was also incredibly formulaic.
