Medion Erazer Beast 16 X1 Ultimate Laptop Review

If only the CPU is a HX385, this would have been a killer.

All Core Ultra processors are like....meh....

Not against Intel, but these Core Ultra processors are one of the worst debuts of Intel.

Considering all the negative comments about 5000 series laptop GPUs, this really isn't so bad.
The gaming scores are in line with my HP Omen with a 150+25 watt 4090, and though synthetic, it scores 800 points higher in Time spy.
It is $350 more than my HP though.

Intel is obviously better choice. Otherwise they would use AMD.

Then I woke up.

Alas, there are VERY few laptops that have AMD CPUs inside - especially flagship models... It's been a few years since AMD has dominated on the desktop side, maybe they should get their act in gear and start making some deals?

Deals need at least two sides. If laptop makers want Intel" because", there is not much AMD could do.

lol - that’s not how business works… Intel is offering a better deal to laptop makers to incorporate their CPUs… AMD should be able to make better deals - but they’ve chosen not to… I’m assuming because they haven’t allocated resources to their mobile division…

Intel better deals = offer money not to use AMD. That has happened before. No wonder AMD rather grab server CPU share.

They should have more RESOURCES.... Intel's cash reserves are *hopefully* going to their actual infrastructure and chip design...
Not easy to bribe manufacturers with just resources. They want money or ultra cheap deals, first consumes money and latter means less money incoming. Both need money that s out of investments. AMD has made many deals lately (=bought other smaller companies).

Can someone please recommend other good laptops which can do some gaming to me?

Preferably with OLED display. I don't strictly need more than 90-100 hz refresh rate, though 120 or 144 would be a bonus.

Must be available in Europe and not extremely expensive though I realize quality has a price.

Price range?

Hard for me to say without having looked at the lay of the land (laptop pricing), but I'd prefer not to spend more than €2500 incl. VAT.
For that you should be able to get an on sale 40-5090 equipped laptop. Prime Day is now, so if you can, get shopping now. If you don't want to push your budget, check out the 4080 equipped machines.
I have an i9\RTX 4090 laptop now and when I got it I was fully expecting to pay around $3300 for the one I wanted. After I made up my mind I went to buy it, and it was on sale for $2800!
Base the other hardware on your needs\personal preference.

Prime Day...? I can't shop from Amazon or whatever you're referring to. Only local stores in my own country. Importing products is a nightmare with fees.

Ok, but then how could we possibly know what your local stores offer?
Prime days are all through Europe as well as the states.
And you don't say what your local country is.

I don't think you thought this through.

It's you who is over-thinking it.

You don't need to know exactly what models are available here or at what price. Leave that part of the problem to me.

I just want to know what the best laptops are, based on personal experiences of others, like yourself.

Honestly, I haven't thought much about it at all.
But you definately did not think this through.

That's what I thought, but you are the one that asked. You even gave a price range.
You also admitted you didn't check out "the lay of the land" so I wanted to give detailed help
since I have bought over 100 laptops at one time, quite a few times in the past.
But I promise I will NEVER help you again after this, so, a win for both of us.

I just want to know what the best laptops are, based on personal experiences of others, like yourself.
HP Omen 17. Intel i9\RTX 4090 175 watt. Its really neato.
There are many others I can help you with, but you only want recommendations
based on personal experiences. So there you have it.
