Memory help

I have a MSI Neo 4 platinum motherboard with 2x1mb pc3200 ddr 400 memory installed in dual channel slots. I have a further 2x512mb pc2700 ddr 333. Just wondering if installing the 2 sticks of 512mb will improve performane or impede it. Any help would be welcome.

If you do install the PC2700 modules, all the Ram modules will be lowered to PC2700 speeds. You'll gain some performance in a very select set of areas (less swapping) but other then that, the rest of the time you'll notice a big performance loss.

2x1mb???

I'm guessing you meant GB, and that's plenty of RAM for anything nowadays, you shouldn't bother putting the slower RAM in, you won't notice a difference.
