Please press the green button, and select your manual (or drivers)

Sorry, it seems you must do this twice, once here, then when you get to Asus support, click it again. This button uses JavaScript (which is enabled by default on most browsers)

thats the problem i used internet explorer and it downloaded but never would show the memory type no matter what i pushed. i have never had a problem with java before.

So you got to your drivers page?

There should have been an area to download your Manual (in Adobe PDF Format usually)
Inside the Manual, should tell you what Ram (memory) types can go into your system.

I usually use the above button just for drivers support, so that's why it's slightly different.
Also I updated the Java link to the correct one.

ok i just found out through my bios and the manual that i have pc2700 installed for sure. http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/con...X+SE+Motherboard&distributor=0&submit1=Search
from asus
http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/viewscanbyid.aspx?id=5B82275231D926C3
from crucial. *Note:i have checked i have pc2700 installed.
They say i have pc3200 installed. so can i have this ram here dual channel http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=669365&CatId=1352
or this one http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=38848&CatId=1043 preferably this one

It says DDR 400MHz PC3200 256Meg 2.7Volts
If the manual states it supports this (ie 400MHz 2.7V) then yes (although some Ram card manufactures don't work with some computers)

Anyway, instead of 256Meg, maybe purchase 512 Meg (that way you can add another new 512Meg stick at a later stage)

ok good thanks for your help!! could i tell i difference if i install the 256mb? i have i 512mb now. i am on a really tight budget.

Maybe I should've said, just go for the 512Meg Throw the 256Megs away - Not not really.
Just go with the 512
