Mother Deleted Soundmax from Win XP Pro

My mother recently deleted Soundmax, thinking it was a virus, and is now very upset at her lack of sound. Her computer was built by some guy locally, but i know it has an Intel Pentium 4 processor and is running on XP Pro.

You will need to reinstall the sound drivers.

You can get these from your mobo manufacturers website.

If you don`t know what mobo you have. Download the free Everest programme from HERE It will give you lots of info about your system.

I have everest installed and open - how do i find out what kind of motherboard i have so i can visit their website?

When you first open the Everest programme, click on the large computer icon in the righthand pane. Now click on the large computer summary icon also in the righthand pane.

You will see a heading that says motherboard. You should be able to see the name and model of your mobo there. There might also be a link to your mobo manufacturers website, which you can click on.
