Bear with me,I will try to explain my issue.
I have an old dell dimension 4550 ,xp os,that I leave on standby,so I can wiggle the mouse and its on.
last night the power flickered due to and ice storm here in michigan. when I awoke this morning I expected to see the computer off. This is usually what has happened before. but instead the harddrive light was on and I could hear it running.No signal to monitor.
I held the power button down until it shut off. waited , then turned it backon.
Same as before harddrive stayed running,nothing on monitor.
I then turned it off, then unplugged it from the wall ,for awhile,then plugged it back in,then turned it on,but it
was the same as before.(harddrive light stayed on,nothing on monitor).
Not sure what else to do/try.
