my ping gets up 988 in ut2004 for any map and game type!!!!

as i said my ping gets to 988 i have a screen shot of it and id like to know if it is possible to decrease it in any slight way possible!!!

some obvious questions:

whats your connection speed? modem? Broadband?
do you have any third party warez hogging bandwidth?
are you on a network? router?
is your ip fixed or dynamic?

use split halves to determine if it's the network or your environment:

run-> cmd /k
and then

ping google.com
and then ping your game server​

you should see relatively small values. if not, then the network has a problem.

if these values are smallish, then your system is just overloaded.
