Sorry but disagree with this. I've seen system instability from a machine that had memory running to hot. Due to excessive voltage while tweaking. Heatsinks are Air flow are required on memory when you start increasing the voltage.

Yeah because while AMD grabs around 30% of TSMC's production, Intel will grab around 3%. Intel will also use TSMC mostly for low end chips because they want to make high performance chips on their own fabs. So yeah, basically Intel is stuck with own fabs just like AMD is stuck with TSMC despite using GlobalFoundries as well.

To put it another way: If Intel suddenly has no access to own fabs, Intel will be bankrupted quite soon. Intel's business is depending on own fabs and those must be at least some way competitive. Intel has bought more capacity from other fabs long time, buying something from TSMC is nothing new.
