No drives

I have just replaced my very old DVD and CDR drives with 2 new ones; the problem is, i am getting a Code 10 off one from the device manager and the other one does not seem to exist in XP. I have checked cables etc. Help

DId you make sure that the jumpers are set correctly? One master and one slave?

I know this sounds stupid; but that could be it. Maybe i shouldn't of tried doing this whilst being in so much pain (not thinking straight). I'll check it over tomorrow. cheers.
