No sound device drivers

Hello, for the past month I've been without sound on my computer. There is a red X on the speaker,when I run the cursor over the speaker a message appears that says the audio service is not running,whenever I click on it Im prompt to turn on audio but when the box appears my drivers aren't there.. Please help

Try enabling both the Plug and Play service first and then Windows Audio service. See the steps HERE

I tried what was suggested and it didn't help.. I may just toss this computer..ugh

Have you also tried reinstalling the audio driver? go to the Gateway support site, find the model # and they should provide the audio driver. Try reinstalling it
