Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Review

Here in my country the cheapest one costs 310€, while RTX 2060 is 370€. For 60€ difference I would rather go RTX 2060 route, wich overclocks like a champ and is only a tad slower than a GTX 1080ti. GTX 1660ti would make sense at 260€-270€ max. Not 310€.

Gigabyte 1660 Ti Gaming OC vs RTX 2060 Gaming OC I'm looking at 70eur price difference (300e vs 370e). I think the 1660 Ti is the more balanced option of the 2 since it has lower power consumption --> lower fan noise and lower PSU requirement. Also you can flash to other 1660 Ti bios with 140w power limit for additional OC headroom. All in all the 1660 Ti is a champ for 1080p gaming.

You can also overclock RTX 2060 wich will leave 1660ti in the dust. Also I dont think 40w difference are that much. For a 60€ difference I would always pick the 2060 by far. It will last much longer and is really close to a gtx 1080ti when overclocked.

The 1660ti would be a champion at 250€/270€. The true mid range price.

The funny thing about this card is, it is a 2050ti for 300 dollars.

Whilst 1050ti cost like 150 dollars or something like that???

So yeah, gg nvidia, you pulled the 680gtx move again.

If you are not familiar, what the 680gtx move is...

The 6xx generation made by Nvidia was quicker than expected.. 680gtxs were supposed to be sold as 660gtxs, but they were performing so powerful and AMD underperforming so much that Nvidia just renamed them and didn't bother to introduce the large high end chip because of the lack of competition.

It is a sad day when people think a card like the 1060 TI is a "great value"! Great value compared to what? I guess when nGreedia is gauging the people just a bit, then it's a great value!

This card should be about $200,....but today it shows up on Newegg selling for $279 - $309 on sale....pathetic.

Great value when compared to older generation cards.

If you want an upgrade you will pay for it. If not you will wait for a reduced price. The only thing sad is consumers complaining and thinking they can set their own price. If only the market worked that way, I'd have a new home and vehicle for $20K.

Finally something decent from Nvidia for a killer price. For anyone complaining about 6gb, Nvidia marketed this card for especially for 1080p. By the time games need more vram at this resolution, the 1660ti will be obsolete.

I know, so sad right?! We are given a $280 card that performs what like a GPU costing $700 4 years ago. What a terrible day for mankind!!

Seriously, why do so many from the PCMR feel the are entitled to such amazing performance and far cheaper prices. Not only is it unlike other technologies such as vehicles, but other PC parts are not held to the fire in the same way. Pretty sure RAM performance/$ doesn't improve much. And we all know how long CPU performance/$ stayed stagnant.

So many continue to jump on the forum-warrior bandwagon that demands double the performance for the same price every year. I just don't get it.

Thanks for the comprehensive review.

Nice to see a new sub-$300 card that really advances the performance of this price segment. Makes me hopeful for its siblings, the rumored 1660 and 1650. I'll be waiting to see what response AMD has. Not that I think it can release anything equivalent, but price cuts would help positioning, and for the lower end, AMD still has the option of releasing a cut down Polaris 30.
I don't think you know what you're talking about, this going to end up like last gen with the 1660 ti being beaten out of the value market once the next generation of budget gpus from AMD come out, sure it beats the 590/580/570 now, (at a higher price point of course!) but you're forgetting that they were polaris refreshes, we still have Navi coming, and I think it's going to tear Nvidia's budget GPU market a new *******
