OCZ Vertex 3 configuration issue

IT’S WORKING!!!!
Thanks very much for your patience and understanding and most importantly all of your advice.
The main problem was my trying to use an IDE installation.
I modified the registry using the link you sent me, reset the BIOS and connected via the Marvell controller and it’s great.
Apologies for my irascible behavior but at 67 years of age I'm becoming more and more impatient and irritable but that’s no excuse for bad manners.
One last question please:
What's to be gained from the latest firmware on the SSD and is it worth updating?

Good work and you are welcome.

Upgrading the Firmware can sometimes fix bug issues and performance. That said if it working fine and you are happy I recommend leaving it as is.

Eject OCZ-VERTEX 3 ATA Device option

Hi Steve

I've noticed that under "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" there is an "Eject OCZ-VERTEX 3 ATA Device" option.

Is this normal or have I something incorrectly setup in the BIOS?

It’s because the drive is hot-swappable, just don’t eject it and you will be fine
