Burn City. You wanted to play devil's advocate...Thanks for the advice, I now have half a dozen pissed off hipsters pinning me down. If they find my Samsung phone it’s all over, Tim can probably take care of future GPU reviews though.
LOL. Try harder next time. They can play mp3 files ever since the birth of ipod. Ignorance is a crime. Imagining things huh.
Um... they play MP3 files now... have for awhile...
Yes I can... If you have Musicbox on your phone (or one of many other apps) it can play them... It can also play them from email attachments... And in your iTunes settings, you can set it to make your default MP3 instead of AAC or whatever....are you sure? Can you copy a mp3 directly to the Iphone 6 and 7 without using Itunes? If not - it probably still transcodes to m4a type file before uploading to phone. One of my work colleagues has a 5S, and we tried via dropbox to play a mp3 file on his phone - didn't work. But uploading it through itunes transcoded it and uploaded it, and it played just fine.
I just don't see the reason for transcoding one lossy format to another.
Um... they play MP3 files now... have for awhile...Apple products are generally overpriced inferior hardware.
I don't need the latest and greatest.
But one thing I absolutely loathe is the fact that an iporn or an iplod can not play a measly mp3 file.. nooo you will have to use itunes to convert it to crapples own format in order to play it.
Why degrade quality by another conversion?!? That's

Not true. I have had an ipod. It could NOT play mp3's. But... I had to connect the ipod to itunes and load the mp3's into itunes, which transcoded it to a kinda m4a format, then uploaded it to the ipod. If I tried to copy a mp3 directly to the ipod, the file would not play.
Sooo... who's the ignorant now, huh?
