Pc hangs when i play counter strike

hi my pc configuration is intel 865 chipset,p4 3ghz, 512mb ram.when i play counter strike its ok but if i press windows key its hanging.also my processor temperatures are about 65 when i start the the game.i even want to check my ram(but i dunno how to du it) bcoz when i right click my computer n view ram i always find only 490mb...n e 1 please help me..........

First off I feel you could use at least another 512 of ram. Then you could activate the dual channel if you haven't already. Dual channel mode is quite a performance boost over single. Next perhaps a driver issue is doing this, maybe you can try another vid card driver?

my friends who hav 512mb n same config donot encounter n e problem......
also 1 more thing yesterday i noticed while am running counter strike my processor temp is above 72centigrade. is this a bad temp???????????.also am even trying with new drivers........but invain same prob..
