Pioneer DVD 215D

  1. Hi,

I was wondering if someone could assist me with a problem with my dvd drive. My pc is relatively new and built the pc from scratch. I have a Pioneer Sata DVD drive which shows in the Bios but when loading the pc the dvd drive will not open. I downloaded the dvd firmware from Pioneer which flashed the drive and then the drive opens ok and I can use it. But soon as I reboot or switch off the pc the Dvd drive will not work again and I have to again run the firmware to use the dvd drive.

There's no problems with the battery on my pc as the times, etc are all working ok and it's got me really puzzled.

I would really appreciate it if someone could advise me on what to do?

Sounds like a faulty DVD Drive and that's all

I agree. If the disk is still under warranty, I would send it back.

Thanks guys it's only around 4 months old so will try and exchange it. Is there any other dvd drives you recommend as I don't want to buy another pioneer one? One of the lads advised to get the Sony LN21400
